About STARTUP

STARTUP is an initiative founded in 2021 as a youth volunteer team in Basra, Iraq, with the goal of empowering students, graduates, and the wider community through training and development programs. In 2023, the initiative gained official recognition under the name Meshwar Foundation for Training and Development, expanding its structure and institutional impact


STARTUP’s programs focus on:

  • Promoting gender equality and the active participation of women in the oil and gas sector

  • Partnering with top Iraqi universities to support student development

  • Building essential skills in leadership, communication, and job readiness

  • Providing advanced technical training in key areas of the oil and gas industry

  • Organizing field visits, expert-led sessions, and innovation competition
